How I help
Some people know exactly what they want to work through. Others only have questions. We can start with either.
Times in life when therapy can help
A relationship, career, move or life stage has ended. The old direction no longer fits, but the next one is not clear.
You replay conversations, anticipate what could go wrong, or understand your patterns intellectually without being able to change them.
After a death, estrangement or another loss, the world may keep moving while you are still trying to find your footing.
Work can become tangled with identity, relationships and expectations. Whether you are under strain, between roles, or unsure what comes next, it can help to have somewhere to sort through it.
Social media, feeds, forums or darker online rabbit holes have become harder to step away from, even when you can see what they are costing you.
You keep up with responsibilities, yet feel detached from what you are doing or unsure what any of it is for.
Immigration, relocation or living far from the place you came from can raise questions of belonging, identity and what home means now.

About George
My path into counselling was not a straight line. As a child I was good at math, so I followed that thread into technical study and spent more than a decade in data software as an engineer and manager.
During that period, I also had to work through emotionally complex times, including migration, loss, grief and depression. Some of those experiences were hard, and some lasted a long time, but coming through them gave me a deeper appreciation of life.
I found that connecting with others — friends, family and counsellors — helped orient me and figure out the right direction to move in. It still does. I became a therapist because I wanted to offer that kind of human connection during tough times.
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and completed my clinical internship at Currents Counselling in Kamloops.
What working together is like
Most sessions start with whatever is closest to the surface. It might be something that happened this week, a loss that keeps returning, a decision you cannot settle, or a pattern you are tired of repeating.
Whatever it is that shows up that day, we work through it together. Some conversations are quiet and reflective. Some are more practical. Sometimes the useful thing is to stay with a feeling for longer than you usually would; sometimes it is to name the next honest step and leave it there.
I will ask questions, notice patterns, and offer ways of thinking about what you bring. You do not have to package it neatly first.
Not sure yet?
Unsure whether this is the kind of therapy you want? A brief consultation gives you a chance to hear how I respond before booking a full session.
My counselling approach
I draw from these approaches flexibly rather than expecting you to fit one model.
Examining the stories that shape how you see yourself, and making room for identities the problem has obscured.
Working honestly with grief, freedom, responsibility, purpose and the choices that give a life direction.
A respectful relationship where you do not have to perform, impress or arrive with a polished explanation.
Learning a different relationship with difficult thoughts and feelings while acting toward what matters to you.
